Window World Cares
The Window World Cares® foundation was started in 2008 for the purpose of raising money for community outreach programs and other philanthropic endeavors. We are extremely glad to be a part of this worthy cause, and proud to have helped raise money and volunteer support for such worthy causes. As a team, Window World and its partners have raised millions in a relatively short amount of time. St. Jude Children's Research Hospital® recognized Window World in 2010 as the "New Corporate Partner of the Year". We are extremely proud of this distinction and hope to continue to grow in our efforts and do even more in years to come. Every product we sell, we use as an opportunity to give back to our community.
St. Jude Children's Research Hopsital
Window World Cares® partnered with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital® upon its incecption in 2008. St. Jude's is one of the world's leading treatment centers for pediatric and pediatric cancer care; it is first to develop many new treatments and courses of action to battle these diseases. One of St. Jude's most notable accomplishments is increasing the survival rate for ALL (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia), drastically from 4% to 94%. ALL is one of the most common types of childhood cancer, and this accomplishment was 50 years in the making. Unlike many hospitals, St. Jude's never considers a family's credit-worthiness in considering whether or not to admit the patient; but instead considers the patients' needs. Our chairwoman Tammy Whitworth says: "Giving back and helping others in need has always been a big part of the Window World culture, but it's the remarkable employees and children of St. Jude who make us so passionate about this organization."
Veterans Airlift Command
Veterans Airlift command is an incredible organization that we are thrilled to take part in. It flies wounded soldiers and their families for medical care and other compassionate causes. Many of our injured soldiers are unable to fly in commercial airlines for various reasons. We are happy to be able to pay a tribute in this small way for those that have given so much for our country. With each new mission with Veterans Airlift Command, we fall in love with our purpose even more as we fall in love with each of the soldiers we touch. We have a number of our own veterans and soldiers in the Window World family, and are glad to be able to say "thank you" in this very special way.
The Stinger
To commemorate the Indianapolis 500's 100th anniversary, we commissioned The Stinger to pay tribute. Its yellow and black color scheme pays tribute to the original Indy 500 winner, the Marmon Wasp. The car also subtly displays every Indianapolis 500 starter. Every starter thereafter is invited to autograph the car and in return, Window World makes a donation for each autograph.
Window World Racing
Window World has been a proud partner with Indy and NASCAR racer, John Andretti, who, represented Window World in the 2009 and 2010 Daytona 500s, the 2009, 2010, and 2011 Indianapolis 500s. In 2011, Window World, Andretti Autosport, and Richard Petty partnered together to bring the #43 Window World car to the Indianapolis 500 for the third time. We are proud of him for finishing 22nd!
